Quite a few of us twin drivers have K2U speed props manufactured by Hartzell, but until recently none of us were aware that the original Hartzell service manual entry for these units did not permit shortening the blade lengths below the factory-new spec of 72”. Bad news if you had a minor nick that might require shaving a bit off the ends of your blades.
Thanks to Ross Steele’s detective work and follow up with Hartzell, the Service manual has been changed to allow shortening down to the standard lower limit of 70”.
