Dear Fellow Comanche Flyer
As 2021 draws to a close I wanted to share with you some of the highlights of 2021 and to share the vision for the New Year.
The past 2 years under the Stewardship of Graham has been difficult at best. The Zoom sessions were a great way for us to stay in touch and our PPP sessions showed the determination of the group to stay in touch during tough times.
Not being able to have face to face meetings made communication difficult- particularly for Ossie and Graham trying to organise production of the Undercarriage Trunnions. It is great to have had our first batch of trunnions produced and sold (predominantly into the USA ). Our next batch is due for shipping in approximately 10 weeks. A huge thanks to Ossie for taking on this mammoth task.
Our AGM in October saw a movement of the deck chairs. I moved from assistant tribe chief to tribe chief. Nigel moved into the assistant role. Tony remained as secretary and Jan as Membership officer. Kevin is keeping us on our toes as our treasurer.
What is very important is that Graham, after two years as our Chief, has offered to continue with the task of looking after our Web site. I encourage you to visit this site. There have been quite a few photographs of Comanche’s uploaded in recent times, and more are welcome! Any articles you would like to add would also be much appreciated.
For 2022 our plans are as follows:
April 1st 2nd and 3rd will be our PPP in Deniliquin. The details of this program will be sent out early in the New Year however there will be emphasis on currency both for planning and for the airborne components.
Our winter fly away is currently being planned for Alice Springs for 6th to 8th May. Our Spring fly way is yet to be confirmed. It would be great to hear any suggestions.
In closing I would like to acknowledge the support from Ken, Lawrence and Nigel working on the PPP program and Graham for his help with the Web site and the rest of the Committee.
Merry Christmas and Best wishes to all for 2022
Safe Flying
David Miller
