Happy New Year!
Here’s wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable 2025!
We start the ICS year with our Tasmania Fly-in to Launceston on the 14th February. This is now only a little over 2 weeks away so if you have still not registered please do so ASAP. I believe Danny & Marion Georgeson are travelling down via Flinders Island for an overnight stop. As a previous landholder on Flinders I can recommend its unique attractions for anyone considering the enroute stop either going down or on the return. As I write this, the temperature in Deniliquin is nudging 43 degrees, so the southern islands are appealing!
Second cab off the rank is our PPP at Deniliquin on the 28th February. Again, if you have not yet registered and are planning to attend, please don’t leave it too late.
Our congratulations go to Vanessa Mullett on her appointment to a senior correspondent role in New York. We wish the family well with the move, although I believe only part time for Harry.
I notice that a couple of Comanches are currently advertised in the Aviation Trader. If any members have items they wish to sell, please consider using this newsletter (and the buy/sell swap section of our website- it works!) so that our members can be informed. I’m only too happy to include articles of any nature in this monthly epistle and it’s free!
Over the past couple of years a few of us have completed upgrades to our aircraft to take advantage of the emerging technology in avionics. I completed a minor upgrade to 8MN, and although happy with what I ended up with, the process may have been easier with the benefit of contributions from others who had been down that track. Considering that, I would like to ask any of you who have undertaken avionics upgrades or modifications to share photos of your panel with us? In fact, any Comanche photos you would like to share will be considered.
To start the ball rolling, the finished panel of 8MN is at the top of this flyer.
If any of you want to send photos to me, please use my personal email: nigelwettenhall@gmail.com
Looking forward to catching up at Longdown,
Best wishes,
Nigel
